The 2015 "Globes" Dun's 100 patent attorney rankings show Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer Baratz has become Israel's largest firm replacing veteran Reinhold Cohn & Partners, which has been the country's biggest patent attorney firm for a decade.
Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer Baratz, which has 22 patent attorneys in Israel, 22 in the US and 2 in Europe was formed two years ago from the merger of Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer and Baratz. The firm specializes in high-tech and biomed and has offices in Tel Aviv, Herzliya Pituach, Haifa, New York, Boston and London.
Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer Baratz managing partner Zeev Pearl said, "Being the biggest firm is a bonus but not the aim. We will continue to arrive to be first in quality, service and our long-term relations with clients."
Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer Baratz is engaged in all aspects of IP from patent registration, trademarks and designs, and copyright through managing IP portfolios, IP related agreements, and litigation in these areas.
Reinhold Cohn & Partners is a veteran firm of more than 80 years, which is in second place with 43 patent attorneys, all in Israel. The firm specializes in trademarks, protection, due diligence, enforcement, innovations, opinions, litigation, and IP licensing and commercialization.
Reinhold Cohn & Partners senior partner Ilan Cohn said, "We remain the same. I think that our uniqueness is expressed in the fact that our firm ideologically is focused on the Israeli market. For the most part we work for Israeli clients. Of course we have large clients abroad but we believe that in order to serve the Israeli market - our place must be in Israel."
Ranked third, as last year, was Ehrlich & Fenster with 35 patent lawyers followed by Dr. Mark Friedman in fourth place, up from sixth last year. Down to fifth from fourth last year was Luzzatto & Luzzatto and down from fifth to sixth was Webb & Co.
