Israel Police are investigating allegations that Rami Levy Communications made illegal use of its cellular services.

Israel Police has begun to investigate suspicions that Rami Levy Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing 2006 Ltd. (TASE:RMLI) and Rami Levy Communications are making illegal use of the security system of the latter company, which provides virtual cellular services.

The investigation was begun following information published in the media by former Rami Levy Communications employee Elki Alon. According to Alon's testimony, senior company officials allegedly used the security system for eavesdropping on parties with whom the company had disputes, or on company employees.

Sources also inform "Globes" that Alon himself gave the police evidence in the affair, and that the police plan to arrest senior company officials for questioning.

Alon today told "Globes" in response, "I already spoke out when reports about eavesdropping on employees and others by the company's security agencies first came to light. I cannot say more at this stage, because the matter is under investigation, but I am glad that things are being thoroughly checked out." No response from Rami Levy Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing and Rami Levy Communications controlling shareholder Rami Levy was available. At the time, Levy completely rejected Alon's allegations, saying, "This is a series of lies and slander."
