Rehovot tops Israel's revenue per household

Rehovot was top and Bat Yam at the bottom of the Central Bureau of Statistics 2015 Household Expenditure Survey on Israel's 14 Largest Cities.

Rehovot has the highest net revenue per household - NIS 19,099. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics 2015 Household Expenditure Survey on the 14 Largest Cities in Israel.

Figures indicate that the gross average revenue per household in Israel is NIS 18,671, while net revenue is NIS 15,427. Average expenditure is NIS 12,323.

In contrast to Rehovot, Bat Yam has Israel's lowest revenue per household - NIS 11,005. Of Israel's large cities, Tel Aviv has Israel's highest net revenue per capita and expenditure per capita - NIS 8,053 and NIS 6,419, respectively.

Rehovot also has the largest gap between net revenue and expenditure - NIS 5,974; the smallest gap was noted in Ashkelon and Bnei Brak - about NIS 250.

And now, some more figures:

In Rehovot, Ashdod, Petah Tikva and Rishon Lezion - over 80% of revenue is from salaries, while in Bnei Brak about 25% is from allowances and financial aid, over twice the national average.

In all cities, the highest household expenditure article is housing (24.7%). Ashdod has Israel's highest percentage of expenditure on food (18.8%), healthcare (7%) and clothing and shoes (4%).

The national average of people living in homes they own is 67.6%, and the percentage of people living in rented apartments is 26.7%. In Rishon Lezion, Rehovot, Bnei Brak and Ashdod over 70% of households live in apartments they own. Tel Aviv, as should have been expected, has the highest average rent price - NIS 4,563 per month.

Rehovot has the highest percentage of people owning at least one computer and internet subscription. Rishon Lezion has the highest percentage of TV owners (98.4%). In Rehovot, over 50% of households have a water purification device compared with only 18.8% in Jerusalem.
