Sano and the TechForGood Rally accelerator will join up to launch a new track that will provide support for startups dealing with hygiene and pollution prevention.
Sano is one of Israel’s leading manufacturers of household cleaning products and it trades on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange at a valuation of NIS 1.27 billion; TechForGood Rally is a startup accelerator focusing on social issues.
The next accelerator class will include up to five ventures which develop products or services to raise awareness of the importance of hygiene or make cleaning more accessible to various demographics. The next term will begin in April of this year and last for four months.
The program will also include startups working on long-term disinfection solutions for institutional use and minimizing exposure to harmful agents, among other social health issues.
Companies that join the accelerator are not forced to concede any equity to enter the program.
Sano CEO Yuval Landesberg said on Wednesday, “Since its founding, Sano has invested immense resources in R&D of new products and made use of automation, robotics, and innovative technologies. The company is proud to uphold international standards of innovation for environmental protection, minimizing packaging, and incentivizing recycling.”
Landesberg added, “In 1985, Sano was one of the first companies in the world to stop using Freon gas which depletes the ozone layer. In our eyes, TechForGood Rally represents the value we look for in the startup sphere innovation which creates added value for the community and the environment.”
