US analytics company Teradata Corp. (NYSE: TDC) has acquired Israeli app marketing developer Appoxee. No financial details were disclosed but the acquisition was believe to be for about $20-25 million.
Founded in 2010 by CEO Itay Levy and Elad Kushnir, Appoxee has raised $2.4 million according to IVC. Investors include Lazarus Israel Opportunities Fund LLLP, former Microsoft Israel general manager Moshe Lichtman, Cyhawk Ventures and Oryzn Capital.
Levy confirmed the acquisition in a blog on the website.
"Techcrunch" describes Appoxee as a "push-messaging startup aimed at publishers and developers that want to increase user engagement in their apps." The company's services include include push notifications, in-app messaging, multi-app messaging, audience profiling, location targeting, and campaign analytics.
"Techcrunch" believes that Appoxee will also use the acquisition to open an Israeli development center.
