Uber enables anyone with suitable training to use his car as a taxicab.

The Uber taxi ordering application and ridesharing enterprise will commence operations in Israel at the end of this week. UberX services will be offered for 48 hours free of charge in Tel Aviv, from Thursday at 8:00 pm until Saturday at 8:00 pm.

The company launched its service in Israel 11 weeks ago. It enables any vehicle owner who has suitable training to become a "taxi" by carrying passengers, even if he does not have an appropriate license. In addition to this service, Uber also operates an uberTAXI service that makes it possible to order a taxi by pressing a button on a unique application, similar to the one operated by Israeli company GetTaxi in recent years.

Uber operates an application-based transportation service in dozens of cities around the world. At the end of the week, it was reported that Uber planned to raise more than $1 billion at a company value of at least $30 billion. Since it was founded five years ago, the company has raised a total of $1.5 billion.

uberX transportation can be ordered using an application that gives each passenger the choice of ordering a taxi (uberTAXI) or a private vehicle (uberX). Private transportation is provided by private drivers who have received special training from company representatives.

Founded in 2009, Uber operates in 226 cities in 45 different countries. The company uses its application to offer a broad range of transportation services: taxicabs, rides in luxury vehicles, rides in private vehicles, trips in large vehicles, etc.
