Israeli voice emotion analytics startup Beyond Verbal has raised $3 million as part of a Series A round, led by China's KuangChi Science Limited, a member of the Kuang-Chi group.

Tel Aviv-based Beyond Verbal’s technology enables the understanding of emotions, well-being, and health conditions through the human voice. Founded in 2012, the award-winning company’s emotions analytics technology has numerous applications - from improving call center effectiveness, to quantifying emotions for market research purpose, and all the way to tracking health conditions over time - and is grounded in more than two decades of research by Chief Science Officer, Dr. Yoram Levanon.

Kuang-Chi chairman Dr. Ruopeng Liu said, “Beyond Verbal's technology is both innovative and highly advanced, with limitless potential. This new partnership is bound to result in the development of new and exciting technologies with benefits in a variety of fields from healthcare to artificial intelligence.”

Beyond Verbal CEO Yuval Mor said, “Beyond Verbal has long sought a partner in China, and we found precisely what we were looking for in Kuang-Chi, a company whose leadership is determined to change the world. Many thanks to our Board for supporting this partnership and to Dr. Liu for his confidence in our team. This funding will enable us to enhance our world leadership position, and continue our efforts into researching the connection between vocal intonation and health issues.”
