Israel Chemicals mulls alternatives to debt issue

The company has NIS 1.58 billion in debt that is due to mature in 2009.

Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) is reconsidering a planned NIS 500 million bond issue to institutional investors.

The company's board of directors has authorized management to consider alternatives to the private placement.

The company has NIS 1.58 billion in debt that is due to mature in 2009. Most of the debt, NIS 897.27 million, is from the banking sector.
