Iris Dror leaves Arison unit Shikun u'Binui

Dror's departure is reportedly due to differences of opinion with Arison Group CEO Efrat Peled.

Iris Dror is leaving her post today as a member of the board of directors of Shari Arison's Shikun u'Binui Holdings Ltd. (Housing and Construction) (TASE: HUCN). Two months ago she also served notice that she will leave Bank Hapoalim's (LSE: 80OA; TASE: POLI) board of directors.

At the end of May, Dror left her job as Arison Group's chief language and communications officer after eight years. She will remain on the boards of Bank Hapoalim and Salt Industries for a few more months.

Sources close to the company say that Dror's departure is due to differences of opinion with Arison Group CEO Efrat Peled.

Dror's original appointment to the board of Bank Hapoalim was controversial and caused dissatisfaction at the Bank of Israel even though the Supervisor of Banks approved the appointment. The disquiet stemmed from the fact that Dror had no previous experience in either banking or finance. In the wake of Dror's departure, Peled will be the Group executive who is closest to Arison.
