Water tech co Bio Pure Technology (BPT) Ltd. has completed a $12 million fund raising round led by Israeli fund Pitango Venture Capital and the US fund USVP. Current investors including Aurum Ventures and Elron Electronic Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: ELRN; TASE:ELRN) also participated in this latest funding round.
BPT develops, manufactures and supplies membrane-based separation solutions for water and wasterwater treatment.
BPT CEO Nir Kinory said, "We can recycle most of a factory's water."
BPT's products can treat especially aggressive flows with high acidity that can harm other membranes, or flows with high levels of pollutants that can block membranes.
Kinory added, "In these situations we have an advantage. In places where the flow is weaker we are less unique."
The Rishon L'tzion-based company was founded in 2001 by Dr. Motti Peri, an expert in membranes who has also served as CEO of Blue Green Environmental Technologies.
