The project is a collaboration with Kibbutz Hukuk.
Sources inform ''Globes'' that Doral Ltd. wholly-owned subsidiary Solarit Doral Company Ltd. will build Israel's first combined wind and solar energy project, after signing a contract with Kibbutz Hukuk in the Upper Galilee. The 1.5 megawatt facility will be built on a 25-dunam (6.25-acre) site slated for an industrial building.
The solar energy farm will cost NIS 22.5 million to build. The cost of five wind turbines due to be set will be an additional NIS 200,000.
Solarit Doral expects NIS 4.5 million revenue a year from electricity sales. The use of wind turbines in the project was made possible after the Public Utilities Authority (Electricity) set a tariff of NIS 1.60 per kilowatt/hour for electricity generated from wind power.
