"High insurance rates are leaving us uncovered" and "Insurance is stripping us" are among the banners under which Israeli motorcyclists will make their protest rides tomorrow while stripped down to their underwear or bathing suits. The motorcyclists are protesting the hike in compulsory insurance rates.
The protest rides will be held in Jerusalem in the morning, and in Tel Aviv and Haifa in the afternoon. However, in respect of the religious sensibilities of Jerusalem's residents, the protesters will be fully clothed in the capital.
Concerning the Tel Aviv protest ride, the motorcyclists' announcement states, "The protest will gather at Bloommfield Stadium at 2:30 pm for a briefing and departure. At 3 pm, the protest will depart, while we wear minimal clothing (underpants/shorts/bra and lingerie/bathing suit), driving along the streets between Shadal Street, Nahalat Benyamin Street, and Rothschild Boulevard.
"For the shy amongst us, occupy the legal parking spaces on both sides of the streets and distribute publicity material. The protest will end at 5 pm."
Notices have also been posted for the times and routes of the protests in Haifa and Jerusalem.
