Video synopsis co BriefCam teams with NICE

BriefCam's video synopsis technology allows users to review hours of footage in several minutes.

Video synopsis system developer BriefCam Ltd. has joined with voice and video recording and analysis technology developer NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE). BriefCam said that it has added NICE as a technology partner.

NiceVision users can now integrate Neve Ilan-based BriefCam's video synopsis technology, which creates a summary of original surveillance video, and allows users to review hours of footage in several minutes.

NICE security solutions are installed with thousands of enterprise-class customers worldwide. Leading security organizations around the world use NICE solutions to protect city centers, transportation hubs, enterprise campuses and critical infrastructure. NICE helps security organizations to better detect, verify, respond to, investigate and resolve incidents, in order to ensure the safe-keeping and protection of assets, infrastructure, and people.

Video Synopsis, BriefCam’s major innovation, is a proprietary image-processing technology that synopsizes original full-length videos. BriefCam provides a complete representation of all events occurring during hours of video footage in a condensed clip as short as a few minutes in length.

BriefCam chairman Gideon Ben-Zvi, a co-founder of the company, said “By making affordable video summarization widely available, we solve the need, as yet unmet, to browse the countless hours of video footage generated daily, all over the world. BriefCam’s technology integrated with NICE’s solution, provides essential tools for reporting incidents and occurrences as they happen, as well as the forensic investigation of incidents that otherwise might never have been exposed due to the high cost of manual video review.”

In March, BriefCam raised a first round of funding totaling $2.6 million. The funding round was led by Aviv Venture Capital and a group of private investors, included many from the closed-captioned TV (CCTV) surveillance industry. They were joined by additional investors in Israel.
