NASA head to visit Israel

Charles Bolden will participate in a conference in Herzliya in January.

US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) administrator Charles F. Bolden will make his first visit to Israel in January, to participate in the fifth annual Ilan Ramon International Space Conference.

The NASA chief was invited by Minister of Science and Technology Daniel Hershkowitz. Bolden will participate in the conference in Herzliya on January 27-28. The conference is a joint endeavor between the ministry of science and technology and the Israel Space Agency, which is a unit of the ministry.

A group of NASA astronauts is heading to the conference. The astronauts are led by Dr. Christer Fuglesang. Fuglesang was a mission specialist on space shuttle Discovery's flight to the International Space Station. The mission returned September 12th.

The heads of the space agencies from other countries will also attend.
