Microsoft top executive coming to Israel

Chief research and strategy officer Craig Mundie is one of the heirs to Bill Gates leadership mantle.

Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) continues to send top executives to visit Israel. In the footsteps of Microsoft chief software architect Ray Ozzie who was here last summer, the company has announced that chief research and strategy officer Craig Mundie will visit Israel in April.

Mundie and Ozzie are the two heirs to Bill Gates leadership mantle at Microsoft.

Like Ozzie, Mundie will speak to the annual Think Next Microsoft innovations conference in Tel Aviv. Mundie He joined Microsoft's consumer platforms division in 1992, managing the production of Windows CE for hand-held and automotive systems and early console games. In 1997, Mundie oversaw the acquisition ofWebTV Networks and he has championed Microsoft Trustworthy Computing and digital rights management. He was recently named by President Barack Obama to the Sci-Tech Advisory Council.

In Israel Mundie will visit Microsoft Israel's R&D center and meet with leading figures in the Israeli economy. He will see some of the country's start-ups. Microsoft has acquired six Israeli start-ups over the years.
