Internet video and peer to peer caching solutions technology developer Oversi Ltd.announced today that Slingshot New Zealand has deployed its video cache platform. The product is designed by the Petach Tikva based company to optimize the Internet experience for the customer's subscribers.

OverCache multi-service platform enables Internet service providers (ISPs) like Slingshot to accelerate over-the-top content, including peer-to-peer, video streaming and other media applications, while generating significant bandwidth savings for the operator.

Slingshot general manager Mark Callander said, “The deployment of the cache was a natural step given increasing customer demand for streaming international content. This demand combined with the high cost of international bandwidth capacity meant that the caching was a great solution. Not only have large downloads been accelerated, but peer-to-peer and streaming as well - including HD content. This enables customers to make the most of free downloading periods offered by Slingshot, and ensures that they can have a positive experience during peak times.
