Software co ControlGuard acquired by Sweden's Cryptzone

ControlGuard has raised $2 million since its establishment from private investors.

End-point security software company ControlGuard Ltd. has been acquired by Swedish company Cryptzone AB (SAX: CZON).

Founded in 2005 by Israel Levi, ControlGuard provides end-point security software that controls access to company computers and servers. ControlGuard's software is already integrated with Cryptzone's solutions for data leak prevention, and has been marketed by Cryptzone for several years as an OEM solution. The acquisition of ControlGuard by Cryptzone creates many synergies that are expected to increase margin and sales.

Details were not disclosed about the amount paid for the acquisition, although Cryptzone is believed to have paid no more than several million dollars. According to IVC, ControlGuard has raised $2 million since its establishment from private investors.

ControlGuard's business activities have suffered over the past few years as more and more competitors have entered its area of activity.

In addition to ControlGuard's software, Cryptzone also takes on the relationship with more than 200 ControlGuard customers and a network of nearly 40 partners worldwide.
