Bar Refaeli caught smuggling iPad into Israel

X-ray equipment found more than clothing in the model's baggage.

International model Bar Refaeli was caught smuggling by customs officials at Ben Gurion Airport last night when returning home to Israel. Refaeli chose to put her baggage through the green, nothing-to-declare channel but an x-ray scan revealed a new iPad bought overseas.

At first Refaeli told customs officials that she only had clothing in her baggage. But on further questioning, the model confessed that there was a new iPad in her possession.

Refaeli will be fined at least twice the amount of import tax that would have been charged on the iPad.

Refaeli is currently negotiating with the tax authority to be given foreign resident status.
