NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE has acquired Lamda Communication Networks Ltd. for an undisclosed amount.
Based in Israel, Lamda provides satellite communications interception technology. NICE says that the company's technology addresses the growing demand for satellite communication interception capabilities and enables law enforcement, internal security, and intelligence agencies to fight crime and terror more effectively. NICE added that the company's solutions strengthen its own capabilities and complement NICE's monitoring, traffic analysis and voice analytics applications, especially the NiceTrack solutions portfolio.
NICE president and CEO Zeev Bregman said, "NICE's security business is an important component of NICE's growth strategy and we are committed to continue to develop it."
NICE's share price rose 1.3% on Nasdaq yesterday to $29.80, giving a market cap of $1.85 billion, but fell 3.4% by early afternoon on the TASE to NIS 111.40, in line with the general market slide.
