VoIP co VocalTec wins Junto deal in Brazil

Junto Telecom will use VocalTec products to upgrade its VoIP network.

VocalTec Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq:VOCL) will provide VoIP products to Brazilian carrier Junto Telecom for the evolution of its Class-5 and IP-Centrex VoIP network.

VocalTec did not disclose the size of the deal, but market sources estimate it at a few hundred thousand dollars.

Junto Telecom will replace its current telephony solution with VocalTec's Essentra family of products, including the Essentra BAX VoIP Application Server to provide advanced enterprise IP telephony services. Junto Telecom will be able to provide advanced services, such as video calling, calling-card, and prepaid services.

VocalTec president and CEO Ido Gur said, "Brazil is an extremely important market for us and we are pleased to add Junto Telecom to our many customers in the country. We look forward to the future evolution of this partnership."

VocalTec's share price fell 0.8% on Nasdaq yesterday to $1.33, giving a market cap of $7.7 million.
