Flexicath Ltd. has raised $2.2 million. The company, which graduated from the Misgav incubator controlled by Trendlines Group, develops catheter insertion systems, to ensure simple, safe and sterile intravenous catheterization.
Trendlines Group participated in the latest round of funding along with Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse (PLSG), Zitelman Group Inc., an investment bank specializing in early stage companies, and private investors.
Flexicath was founded in 2004, and in 2007 raised $3 million in a round of funding led by Zitelman Group. To date, the start-up has raised $6.5 million including the seed money received in the incubator.
Flexicath’s proprietary products address the most pressing problems facing the IV catheterization market today and the company's peripherally inserted catheters can be used for up to 120 days. The catheters can be inserted using a sterile sleeve directly from its packaging and without touching external matter. It can be easily inserted by staff without any special expertise.
