Spectronix wins US Army orders

The firm expects to deliver the orders in the fourth quarter of 2010 and first quarter of 2011.

Spectronix Ltd. (TASE: SPCT) reported today that it has recently received several orders for system parts and replacement parts from the US Army.

The company said that the orders totaled about $7 million.

The Sderot-based company makes optical sensors for the detection of fire, gas, and explosives.

Spectronix expects to deliver the orders in the fourth quarter of 2010 and first quarter of 2011.

Shares in Spectronix rose 3.4% by early afternoon trading. The shares have risen over 42% so far in 2010.
