Kibbutz Ein Hashofet in northern Israel has signed an agreement with solar energy systems integrator Greentops Ltd. to install a solar array. The system will be installed on the roofs of kibbutz buildings and will add 2.4 megawatts to electricity production capacity.
The deal is worth NIS 35 million and Greentops will hold a 30% stake in the project.
The kibbutz will install the photovoltaic panels of German company Schott Solar AG.
Greentops CEO Moti Avni believes that the volume of deals for medium sized PV systems (50 kilowatts to 5 megawatts) will reach NIS 100 million in the first half of 2010.
