55 Israeli start-ups at Mobile World Congress

So far 1,400 business meetings have been set up in advance for Israeli companies with the world's largest mobile carriers.

The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute brought together 55 start-up companies to present at the booth it is renting at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year.

So far, 1,400 business meetings have reportedly been set up in advance for Israeli companies with the world's largest mobile carriers and equipment makers, including Vodafone, Telefonica, RIM, T-Mobile, China Mobile, Ericsson, Orange, and more.

The Export Institute says that the Israeli companies exhibiting this year represent a wide range of innovative technological solutions for growing global technology trends. Among others, there are solutions for problems such as network overloads (due to an abundance of data and the multiplication of applications), dizzying growth in the use of data services, a drop in carriers' revenue from voice services and from free surfing on the Internet, and more.

Among the innovative applications that can be found at Israel's booth are a solution which uses environment-friendly wind energy for telecommunications base stations, a solution for optimal management of traffic overloads on cellular networks in urban areas, a solution which connects a mobile telephone with television, and technology which makes it possible to receive customer feedback in real time.
