Prosecutor may indict six companies over Holyland

The companies are Salt Industries, Holyland Tourism, Holyland Recreation Services, Holyland Park, Hazera, and Kaldash Construction.

The Tel Aviv District Prosecutor (Taxes and Economics) today confirmed that it has notified six companies for involvement in corruption in the Holyland real estate development affair in Jerusalem. The prosecutor may file indictments, pending the results of a hearing.

The six companies are Israel Salt Industries Ltd., Holyland Tourism Ltd., Holyland Recreation Service Ltd.s, Holyland Park Ltd., Hazera (1939) Ltd., and Kaldash Construction Ltd.

On 14 March, the prosecutor notified 18 key suspects in the Holyland case that it would indict them, subject to a hearing, which will be held in the coming months. The suspects include the project's developers, various middlemen, and Jerusalem municipal officials, including former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who is suspected of receiving bribes in connection with the Holyland development when he served as the city's mayor. Other bribery suspects include Olmert's successor as mayor, Uri Lupolianski, and Olmert's chief of staff Shula Zaken.
