Xtreamer launches product with interface by Israel's Boxee

Boxee offers an interface that is very convenient to operate and can scan computer video files rapidly.

Korean company Xtreamer is set to launch a new streamer made by Israeli start-up Boxee Inc.. Boxee's new streamer, called ultra, is a mini-computer for the home designed not only for viewing content stored in a computer but also with other capabilities.

Xtreme has collaborated with Boxee for the first time on this new product in order to solve interface problems. Boxee is offering an interface which is very convenient to operate and can scan computer video files rapidly and present them according to TV program and movie categories with pictures and brief descriptions. Boxee has a large range of applications for TV channels and Internet sites, which can be viewed by its software.

Because this is small computer with a D525 Intel processor, it can be installed on Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system for convenient Internet surfing. The product comes with a remote control device and mini-cordless keyboard with a built-in mouse.

The cost in Israel is NIS 1,500 and the ultra fully supports Hebrew because members of the development work team are Israeli. The ultra has sold 80,000 units since it was launched in Israel 18 months ago.
