Turkey's Energy Minister: Israeli, Cypriot gas drilling is illegal

Taner Yildiz said today that all revenues from the gas wells discovered should be shared between all the countries in the region.

Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said today that Israel and Cyprus's gas exploration drilling in the Eastern Mediterranean is illegal and that all revenues from the gas wells discovered should be shared between all the countries in the region.

Yildiz is reiterating the comments made by Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who has threatened naval intervention over the exploratory drilling by Noble Energy Inc. (NYSE: NBL) at the Block 12 license off the coast of Cyprus.
