IAI Elta wins $106m in new foreign orders

The company received orders for its 3D fire control radars, satcom network system, AD-STAR radar systems and its tactical short range air defense radar.

Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1) subsidiary Elta systems Ltd., has signed a series of contracts with foreign customers worth $106 million for its 3D fire control radars, satellite communications (satcom) network system, AD-STAR radar systems and its tactical short range air defense radar.

A $39 million order is for 3D fire control radars surface-to-air defense weapon systems. The system can track and identify high maneuvering targets such as fighter aircraft and various missiles. A $30 million order is for the ELK-1891 satcom system, which has a range of thousands of kilometers, and ELK-1894 wideband satcom data link system, which is mainly designed for maritime patrol aircraft, and airborne early warning and control, signal intelligence aircraft, and long endurance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). A third order is a $33 million order for the ELM-2288 3D long-range air defense and air traffic control radar (AD-STAR), which can handle a complex clutter environment, and detect and automatically track targets.

The final order, a $4 million order for Elta's ELM-2106NG 3D tactical air defense radar is designed to support ground forces to protect themselves from attacks of helicopters, airborne battleships, and low flying fighters.
