Record passenger traffic at Ben Gurion Airport

Ben Gurion Airport expects a busy weekend with over 200,000 passengers travelling on 1,190 flights.

The Israel Airports Authority reports today that over 200,000 passengers (arrivals and departures) are expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport over the weekend (Thursday to Sunday) on 1,190 flights. The busiest of the days will be today with 67,000 passengers on 400 flights, and Sunday with 63,000 passengers on 363 flights.

Last Thursday, there was an all-time one day record of over 69,000 passengers at the airport.

In the first three weeks of August 1,086,384 passengers passed through Ben Gurion Airport in arrivals and departures, 4.4% up from the corresponding period of 2011, and 8% up from 2010.

In July 2012, 1,414,020 passengers passed through Ben Gurion Airport, up 4.5% from July 2011.
