Electric car venture Better Place Inc. has sold its Hawaii operations to Optimization Technologies Inc. unit OpConnect LLC, which will operate the battery charging stations in the state. Better Place stated that it has almost 700 drivers in Hawaii and 77 charge spots and 154 charge points at public locations on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. It added that Hawaii has more plug-in vehicles per capita than any state in the US.
