Following yesterday's report in "Globes" of a police investigation at Rami Levy Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing 2006 Ltd. (TASE:RMLI) and Rami Levy Communications, it was reported today that Rami Levy, the controlling shareholder in the two companies, was questioned under caution concerning the alleged illegal use of the Rami Levy Communications fraud prevention system, and allegations that the cellular provider eavesdropped on employees, and was released at the end of questioning.
In addition to Levy, senior company officials were questioned, including Ophir Attias, responsible for communications in the company. Attias and another employee in the subsidiary were released under restrictions by the Court with their agreement. Rami Levy reported today to the TASE that its representatives had cooperated with Israel Police, and had given it all the evidence and documents it requested.
Rami Levy stated, "No unauthorized or illegal use was made of the information system. The company trusts that the investigative authorities will complete their investigation as soon as possible, and do their work faithfully."
