Israel stands relatively well in the health indices in a comparison with Western countries, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). At the same time, public spending on health in Israel is among the lowest in the West, and Israelis pay in money and health for the state of the public health system. Israel consistently places near the bottom of the list of developed countries in medical infrastructure and equipment, and suffers from severe crowding in hospital wards and shortages of hospital beds, MRI devices, etc.
What reforms are required to make a significant change and make the system more effective for patients and healthy people? Will the expected changes in hospital emergency rooms reduce the burden on the system? What are the economic consequences of the planned reforms? Between the uniform health insurance policy, the nursing reform, and the addition of life-saving drugs to the complementary insurance, what will add oxygen to the health system?
A special session on these questions will be held at the 2015 Globes Israel Business Conference.
Opening remarks: Minister of Health Yakov Litzman
Participants in the discussion will include:
