The unemployment rate in Israel fell to 4.9% in April from 5.3% in March, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today in its latest employment data. Participation in the workforce among those aged 15 and above remained unchanged in April from March at 64.4%. Participation in the workforce for those aged 25-64 rose to 80.5% in April from 79.8% in March. The number of employees usually in full time work (35 hours or more per week) rose by 1.6% in April compared with March while the number of people usually in part time employment (35 hours or less per week) fell 2.6%. The proportion of employees usually working full time rose in April to 78.4% from 77% in March.
