Amdocs wins Italy deal

Energy company Enel serves more than 52 million power and gas customers.

Billing and customer service software developer Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX), today announced that Italian energy company Enel has deployed contact center and agent interaction products from Amdocs CES - CRM 7.5.

Enel selected Amdocs to evolve both its customer service operations and its existing Amdocs customer management system. As a result, Enel has deployed Amdocs Smart Agent Desktop solution, an agent portal that provides a unified agent desktop to manage all customer interactions regardless of where the information resides.

The deployment expands Amdocs longstanding relationship with Enel.

Enel is Italy's largest power company and Europe's second listed utility by installed capacity. It produces and sells electricity and gas across Europe, North America and Latin America. Enel has approximately 83,000 megawatts of generating capacity (as of September 30) and serves more than 52 million power and gas customers.

In March, Amdocs signed another energy company deal, when it signed to replace the existing system at Costa Rica's national energy and telecommunications service provider, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE).

Shares of Amdocs closed at $21.75 on Monday, giving a market cap of $4.44 billion.
