2010 was a relatively good year for high tech employees, high tech job placement site Jobinfo reported. Last year saw a 22% rise in demand for high tech workers compared with 2009. Higher demand was spread across a range of areas include hardware, software, Internet, sales and marketing.
Alongside the rise in available jobs, there was an 8% fall in the number of available candidates applying for first time employment in 2010 compared with 2009. Over the same period, there was also a 27% rise in people renewing their search for a job.
Jobinfo CEO Ilana Ahimeir said, "The fall in new job applicants in the main reflects the better situation in the market, hand in hand with a feeling of security among candidates returning to look for work. Even so we cannot categorically state that the crisis is behind us."
