Zohar Levkovitz, co-founder and CEO of Israeli start up Amobee, has won a signal honor. Today, accounting firm Ernst & Young announced the finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011 Northern California Award, and Levkovitz is on the list.
Past winners of the award include the founders of Yahoo!, Google, Oracle, Starbucks, and other household name companies. Levkovitz is the only Israeli on this year's list, and he will compete for the title with LinkedIn founder, CEO and chairman Reid Hoffman, PayPal president Scott Thompson, and others.
"It is a great milestone and a huge honor to be recognized alongside nominees such as PayPal’s Scott Thompson and LinkedIn’s Reid Hoffman,” said Levkovitz. “This achievement is a testament to years of dedication to establishing Amobee as a global leader in mobile advertising, and to the efforts of our amazing team who has worked hard to make our vision a success."
The Ernst & Young program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Levkovitz was selected as a finalist from hundreds of nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on Saturday, June 25 at the Fairmont San Jose.
Amobee was founded in 2005. It develops advertising and campaign management platforms for targeted advertising for SMS and MMS, and via video clips, music, games, and cellular Internet. Amobee was named by "Globes" as the most promising start up of 2008-2009. Levkovitz was named 2010 CEO of the Year by the Israeli Center for Management and as a 2010 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.
Regional winners of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Award.
