Suicide bomber kills two yeshiva students

Four other youths were wounded in the attack near Kalkilya junction. Bombs were neutralized in Netanya and Petah Tikva.

The wave of terrorist attacks continued today in Neve Yamin, Netanya, and Petah Tikva. Two youths, Aliran Rosenberg, 15, of Givat Shmuel, and Naftali Lantzikorn, 14, of Petah Tikva, were murdered in a suicide attack at the filling station adjacent to the Kalkilya roadblock. The police initiated a controlled explosion of two bombs discovered by passersby in the Netanya market and in Petah Tikva.

Security forces, on alert throughout Israel, were not able to prevent a series of terrorist attacks today. Police Commissioner Shlomo Aharonishki said, “Under the current circumstances, we cannot guarantee in the long run that additional attacks will not take place.” The police and the Israel Security Agency are conducting intensive investigations to uncover a number of terrorist cells thought to be operating in Jerusalem, towns in the central region, and along the border with the territories.

A tremendous explosion went off at 7:25 AM at the Mifgash Hashalom gas station in Neve Yamin on the border with the territories near Kalkilya.

A suicide bomber blew himself up near a group of youths waiting in the gas station parking lot for a ride to their yeshiva in Kedumim. Two were killed, one was critically wounded, another had moderate injuries, and two more were lightly injured.

The terrorist was killed in the explosion. “I turned around and saw my friends lying on the ground,” one of the youths who witnessed the attack said. A large group of police came to the filling station and began looking for additional bombs.
