Business customers will pay higher fares in Tel Aviv but fares for private passengers will be unchanged.

Gett, formerly known as GetTaxi, has told business customers that due to the traffic jams created by the Tel Aviv light rail construction works, the company is compelled to raise taxi fares from November 1.

Gett leads rivals such as Uber in the Tel Aviv taxi fares for businesses market., helping companies coordinate taxi rides for their employees. Customers include Google Israel, Channel 10, and major law and accountancy firms.

Gett wrote to customers today, "To our regret, a new reality has been created with jams in the Greater Tel Aviv area due to the light rail construction work, which is not under our control and is a kind of "act of God." This reality is not pleasant for either taxi drivers or passengers. For the tax drivers who are independent contractors, this means journeys will be very much longer, and among other things cause them unplanned expenses and a lack of desire to respond to calls from business customers."

It should be mentioned that fares for private customers will not rise. Gett confirmed this report.
