Workforce mg't tech co Synel signs deal in China

Taiji Computer Corporation Ltd. has worked on the Beijing Olympic Stadium security system and the Qingdao Olympic sailing center.

Workforce management technology firm Synel Industries Ltd. (TASE: SNEL) has signed a distribution deal in China with Taiji Computer Corporation Ltd.

Taiji committed to buying at least $630,000 in Synel technology over the next two years.

In mid-December, four Taiji executives spent about ten days at Synel's offices in Yokne'am. The group had an extensive training course covering the variety of Synel’s solutions, focusing mainly on Synel’s leading Harmony system.

Taiji claims to be one of China’s largest engineering and integration companies. The firm will serve as Synel’s exclusive distributor in China, integrating Synel’s solutions in its large projects around the country. Some of Taiji’s large projects include the Beijing Olympic Stadium security system, the Qingdao Olympic sailing center, and a Ministry of Justice office building.

Synel has been active in the Chinese market for several years, and has implemented a number of large projects in companies such as: Wall-Mart, SYNOPEC, Johnson’s & Johnson’s, and McDonald’s.

Synel views the current deal as a step up in its Chinese market exposure, and paves the way to its participation in large projects, mainly in the public and governmental sectors, to which Taiji is strongly affiliated. Synel VP international sales and marketing Ady Shani said, “The cooperation with Taiji is about to open for Synel the public and governmental sectors, which have so far been difficult to penetrate."
