Israeli taxi hailing app company Gett, formerly known as GetTaxi, is expanding its operations in Russia, one of its main markets. The company yesterday launched a maxi taxi service allowing users to order a large taxi in a SUV or minivan, alongside its other services for a regular taxi, express taxi, and black limo VIP taxi, all with child seats if required. These services put Gett in more direct competition with its major rival Uber.
At the same time, Gett, which operates in Moscow and St. Petersburg has also expanded its services to five other major Russian cities.
When asked if the maxi taxi service will be introduced in Israel, a Gett spokesman told "Globes,"In the coming few months, the company will announce innovative services that don't current exist in Israel."
