Intel, Israel's biggest high-tech employer, is trying to recruit more women employees. The company today announced that it would double the bonus for employees helping to recruit women employees.
"In order to recruit the best employees," said Intel Israel CEO and Intel International VP Maxine Fassberg, "we have to increase the number of women applying to Intel in a process in which all Intel employees take part and identify with. Doubling the bonus sends a clear message - we're serious about our desire to increase the number of women recruited."
The new bonus will fit in with the word of mouth program, in which the company is encouraging its employees to recommend their acquaintances in exchange for remuneration. In addition to bonuses for women recruits, Intel announced that it would grant NIS 130,000 in student scholarships this year.
The proportion of women employees at Intel Israel is 21%, while they provide 30% of nationwide management.
Intel Israel VP human resources Judith Yampolsky said, "We believe that diversity in employment is the company's engine for innovation and creativity. As a global company, we regard diversity as an important part of the company's values. We grow with what is different, and believe that it is the basis for the company's development."
