Amdocs human resources head reverses resignation decision

The Amdocs board of directors asked Naama Maidan Gilead to reconsider her decision.

Sources inform "Globes" that SVP and head of human resources Naama Maidan Gilead has decided to remain at billing system software developer Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX). About two months ago Maidan Gilead decided to resign for personal reasons.

The Amdocs board of directors asked Maidan Gilead to reconsider her decision, in appreciation of her professionalism and in view of the difficulty inherent in replacing the head of human resources during a period of economic crisis and cuts.

Maidan Gilead will report to SVP and head of the customer business group Ayal Shiran.

Maidan Gilead will also remain on the eight-member executive committee at Amdocs, along with Shiran, CEO Dov Baharav, CFO Tamar Rapaport-Dagim, and four other executives.

Naama Maidan Gilead joined Amdocs nine years ago, and has served for the past two years as head of human resources. In her role, she is responsible for the company's 17,000 employees worldwide (4,000 in Israel). Over the course of the past year, Amdocs has had to lay off several hundred employees, due to the economic crisis and lower revenue.

Shares in Amdocs rose 0.8% to $21.14 by noon in New York, and reflected a market cap of $4.31 billion.
