Sources inform "Globes" that employees of the Coffee Bean café chain have not been paid and checks given to workers by the chain's owners City Food have bounced for lack of cover or because bank accounts were restricted. Two branches of the chain recently closed and two more branches are on the verge of closure.
Files have been opened with the debt collector worth more than NIS 500,000 against V.I. Green Food which operates some of the outlets due to checks that were not honored.
Dozens of the company's employees are organizing in order to submit a joint lawsuit against the company's owners.
At the end of June, Coffee Bean's branch in Ibn Gbriol St. in Tel Aviv was closed after, according to an employee, the company was unable to pay the electricity bill and the Israel Elevctric Corp. cut off the café's electrical supply.
"Globes" was unable to receive a response to all these claims from the company's owners.
