Argentina, Paraguay hydroelectric station installs Synel units

Synel's Harmony employee attendance and management system was placed in points located hundreds of miles apart.

The bi-national Yacyreta hydroelectric power station, jointly built and operated by Argentina and Paraguay, has installed Synel Industries Ltd.'s (TASE: SNEL) Harmony employee attendance data collection and management system.

Yacyreta is one of the largest hydroelectric power stations in the world, producing around 4,050 MW. It was created under an agreement between the two bordering nations of Argentina and Paraguay.

The operation employs about 600 people, and will now rely on Harmony for its time and attendance data collection. The project was installed by Eng. Eduardo Santarcieri of Miatech SRL, Synel’s sole representative in Argentina.

In this first stage of the Harmony project, Synel’s SY-745 terminals with biometric readers were installed in the central hydroelectric plant in Posadas in the Misiones province; in Ituzaigno in the Correintes province, and in the central offices in Argentinean capital Buenos Aires.

The locations are geographically distant. Ituzaigno and Posadas are each over 600 miles (1,000 kilometers ) away from Buenos Aires.
