Workforce management technology developer Synel Industries Ltd. (TASE: SNEL) has won a deal to install an integrated time, attendance, and access control system in Haifa's Oil Refineries Ltd. (TASE:ORL).
The project is valued at around $400,000.
Synel's solution is based its Harmony system, which supports encoded smart cards and biometric fingerprint technologies. It enables managing attendance reports, meals consumption, and access control of authorized employees, suppliers, visitors and vehicles at company’s various sites.
Oil Refineries Ltd. (TASE:ORL) is Israel's largest oil refinery.
Synel said that due to the sensitive nature of the oil refining and petrochemical industry, and strict security demands and measures required for its protection, the solution offered had to include workforce management combined with tight security capabilities.
Employees and visitors are identified by a DESFire smart card with an internal memory, which combines an advanced encoding technology for safeguarding the data which is stored in the card.
Vehicle control is with an active RFID card, and includes identification of the passengers and vehicle attribution to a certain driver, for the purpose of preventing entrance of unauthorized vehicles or people into sensitive areas in the organization. A picture of the driver is displayed on a screen in the guard’s post at the entrance to the plant.
For the year to date, Synel shares are up 25.8%.
