Lapid reminded that he once emigrated

Following Yair Lapid's attack on emigrants, a Facebook post recalls that he himself emigrated in 1997.

Minister of Finance Yair Lapid has been reminded in a Facebook post that he himself once emigrated to work in Los Angeles. The post by Noam Forer followed Lapid's scathing attack on emigrants who left Israel for Berlin because of Israel's high cost of living. Lapid was responding to a Channel 10 report about young Israelis who left Israel for Berlin or the US to obtain cheaper housing and food and to lower their cost of living.

Forer's post pointed out that in 1997, Lapid emigrated to Los Angeles to manage Arnon Milchen's New Regency TV production company. Forer also recalled that in Lapid's own biography of his father "Memories After My Death the Story of Tommy Lapid," he mentions the hurt felt by his father when he emigrated from Israel.

Some posts responded in defense of Lapid suggesting that everybody has the right to regret things they did 16 years ago.
