ECI Telecom Ltd. has one a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) contract from Horsebridge Network Systems Ltd. in the City of Westminster in London. The project will connect 22,000 homes in Westminster, which has a population of 220,000.
Horsebridge, an ECI customer for five years, will deploy ECI's I-OLT FTTH solution, which supports FTTx architecture, GPON, and Ethernet, to provide advanced television, cable, data, and voice services. ECI adds that other municipalities in Europe have chosen its solutions.
“Local governments and municipalities recognize the challenge of closing the digital divide that exists today in many urban, suburban and rural areas," said ECI president sales and marketing Sorin Lupu.
