The plan approved for the Ayalon industrial zone calls for an additional 360,000-sq.m. of mainly high-tech and light industrial buildings.
The District Planning Committee has approved the Rishon Ayalon plan for the old industrial zone in the western part of the city. The industrial zone, which covers 125 acres, will be upgraded with 360,000 square meters of industrial space added to the existing 400,000 square meters of space. Some of the existing buildings will have their building rights quintupled with some high-rise office towers of up to 20-floors built. Most of the existing buildings are workshops and industrial buildings but the new development is expected to be predominantly offices, high-tech and light industry.
The Rishon Ayalon plan has been approved and is awaiting final amendments before being deposited for objections. Unlike the Haeleph project to the south of Rishon LeZion, which was approved last week, the Rishon Ayalon plan does not include any residential development.
