Israel's unemployment rate fell in July, to 6.2%, from 6.5% in June, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today.
The rate of unemployment among men fell from 6.6% in June to 6.3% in July, and among women from 6.3% to 6.1%. The percentage of the population aged 25-64 participating in the workforce fell last month to 79.1%, from 79.5% in June. The participation rate for men fell from 84.5% to 83.9%, and for women from 74.6% to 74.4%.
The unemployment rate in the 25-64 age bracket fell from 5.3% in June to 5.0% in July. Among men aged 25-64, the unemployment rate fell from 5.5% in June to 5.1% in July. The rate among women aged 25-64 fell from 5.1% to 4.9%.
An improvement was recorded in the number of people in full-time jobs (35 or more hours per week) in comparison with June. The number rose by some 27,000, or 1%. The number of people in part-time jobs fell by 4.6%, or 37,000, last month in comparison with June.
